Attended my first baby shower in about 20 years on Sunday and boy have times changed. I don't think there is one item that baby will not have or need. We were 48 attending and it took her 2 hours just to unwrap everything. As many of you are aware, I do a lot of baby items and this being for my son's best friend who I consider like a son, I did one of my baskets. I do baskets all the time for my corportate Customer but I never see the reaction or get the feedback from the person who receives it. Cynthia (mom to be) was blown away and the reaction was so terrific I was blown away as well. It was nice to see, feel and hear what people thought of my things. Of course cuties are always so generous when I post my projects but this was different. I had business cards in my purse, l

ran out and the phone has been ringing since yesterday, I am overwhelmed and a bit nervous
wondering what is to come. I have been wanting to start of small business for my retirement years but have been too busy to get things underway. This may be the push I need. I did get a call from Cynthia yesterday morning thanking me again and she told me that this gift was so precious to her and there were no words to describe their appreciation. So when you are wondering if all our hard work is worth it, my feeling on that is ''YES'' because to see her face (and others) made my heart full of joy.
Thanks for allowing me to share,
hugs to all and have a terrific day
Michelle

That is a wonderful response to your gift! It is also well deserved! Your creations are adorable and very well put together too. Sometimes Cuties are generous and sometimes we are just honest. Your baskets are the kind of gift to Wow someone with. I have often thought it would be great if I could make something half as nice as your basket for my grown children.

People always ask if I "do that for money" when they see something I've made and it's always nice that they think it's good enough to sell. I'm nervous at the idea of all the responsibility being on me...will people bring me things I know won't stitch well or want things that are more trouble than they realize etc. I recently made a first birthday onesie after 4 months of mom changing her mind back and forth about what she wanted. I was very excited to see photos of him wearing it but she said it turned out so cute that she didn't want him to wear it & get it dirty! She's going to put it in a memory box instead. Good luck with your business! I hope I get the push I need to get something going too :-)

Limit will you will do, when it looks to time consuming up the price so that the client understand the work involved, otherwise it can give you many headaches. I have learned to say ''NO''. but thing I ever learned.

Wonderful, Michelle! I was asked once if I sewed for the love of it or did I make any money! Mainly the love for my part. I sell enough to pay for my supplies, but NEVER for the time. And I know what you mean by seeing the delight on faces when they see something made just for them! Great job & I hope this starts you on the road to a personal business!

Such a great feeling Michelle - My feeling - we don't make and give something for the thanks, it's the feeling that the receiver really thought the item they received was just so great - I find that OMgolly this is so beautiful, I just love it, thank you so very much seems to be missing, as I said we don't make the gift for the thanks, but it is very rewarding to know that your work was appreciated... Guess I'm getting old - I find something is missing today!!! So happy for you Michelle...Hugs Glenda x0x0x0

Well I think all of your work is stunning Michelle and I'm so pleased that Cynthia thought so too. I've found that anything "made" nowadays is really appreciated by the younger generation as they haven't done this sort of thing. Good luck with you starting a business, you should go for it. Love Chris

I am so glad your work was appreciated and if this starts of your business I wish you good luck. Your work always amazes me as you make such beautiful scenes by combining designs.
We don't have baby showers here, presents are given after the birth, not before. What you might get from family or close friends is a 10-days-basket, to be opened 1 present a day after the birth.

Well now this is the second time in one week that I am overwhelmed, how Lucky am I too have some many generous cuties to support and encourage me, you are all awesome.
My head has been spinning since Sunday and I have to tell you that I am seriously considering all of this. I started crafting when I was about 7 and have always wanted to start a business. Better late than never and at 50 something, it is still doable. I will have to sit and ponder, just don't know where I'll find the time to ponder, LOL.
Of the many crafts I had made over the years this is the one that really gets my creative juices flowing, deciding on the big picture, the thrill of the hunt for the designs and then the complexity of putting it all together to tell a story. LOVE doing this,
So I shall consider all your kind words of encouragement and will keep
you all posted of my final decision, may even ask for some good advice from all of you,
Hugs and more hugs and THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH
