Hi Cuties, I messed up on something,I'll show you. What I wanted to know is,Would you emb something on this paisley fabric, if so , need suggestions for it to show up.It is for a clutch size zip bag. This blue one should have had the design further down, decided after to add inital, and I totally forgot to quilt it.Do you think I should stipple the paisley? Sorry I am so indecisive today. Have been sick with SEVERE headache/pains since Sunday, just starting to feel a little better.

You can do bright or yellow gold and it wil be elegant. As far as paisley, I am trying not to mimic my fabric, however it is easier for me to tell you than to decide for me! How' s that for indecisive.

Do what though?(I meant the fabric is a paisley, not a paisley design) I can't do inital, cause I don't know who it is for, yet.Any design sugestion?

Hi Toogie, on the Paisley fabric I would put an applique design on it in plain fabric, that way it would stand out. I wouldn't stipple the Paisley fabric as it is o beautiful as it is. Good luck with it all.
It's 8.00am Thursday morning here as I write this. Love Chris

You Could put an Initial on one side and stipple the paisley on the other side. I love the fabric by the way

ACO24-7 is what is on my file, does anyone else have this or know what ACO stands for? I can't think, head hurts again.
I have the same design in my files, it is part of a set called Bugs-N-Blooms from Attic Treasures. I purchased my set from Oregon Patchworks

I love them the way they are - sometimes less is more if you know what I mean. And the fabrics are lovely!

One way would be no added design and then stipple with the most neutral of all it's colors and that would add texture and body. That's just one way. I have loved paisley prints since childhood and I know you're enjoying this one!

Hi Toogie,
I think a Fleur-de-lis in gold or match the green color on the fabric would be pretty on this.
Paisley is one of my favorites. This paisley is beautiful.

For me the fabric is beautiful all on it's own, I think anything added will take away...the carry strap in gold maybe !!!

How about a stylised corner flower design or a geometric design, in black? Forget the colours of the original design and just use black. I think I'd do it on the left 1/3 of this fabric and keep that beautiful design on the right clear.

So sorry about the miserable headaches!
I came back to see the ideas. The Fleur de lis sounds pretty. I have a file full.... I'm glad ConstanceSq50 gave you this idea! I might borrow it!
Hope you get over the headaches soon and back to stitching.

The bag with the ladybugs is very cute and I love your paisley fabric.
The Ladybug design is from Attic Treasures at Oregon Patchworks, the set is called Bugs-n-Blooms and is on sale for 50% off at the moment. I have tried to add a link for those who are interested, I hope it works.

Love both of them, as they are. I wouldn't add any embroidery on the paisley fabric and no stipple either. Best wishes for your headache/pain.

Although I see what you mean about the placement of the "D" and flower design, I still think it looks great as it is. The colors make it stand out nicely against the blue.
As for the paisley one - the fabric is just so pretty on its own in those fall colors, you don't really need to add any other embellishments. But if you decide you have to put something more on it, I would stick to a single color from within the fabric (my preference would be the green as it would show up better against the lighter golds and orange.) Maybe just a solid stripe (like a ribbon), or perphaps a stripe with a little bit of fancy stitching such as a leaf motif since it is Autumn.
It will be beautiful no matter what you decide, so good luck!!

You know... I think it is pretty as it is... but, something I love to do is stitch a FSL all in one color onto something like this. Wouldn't a pretty FSL Paisley design stitched in a gold to match the lightest gold look pretty on this? Something with a sheen.... Or a monogram..... something with only one color for sure.....

Also, it's fun to stitch around the paisley designs, like stippling, but outlining the different designs - it makes them POP!

You have so much time in this already, Too me it looks fine, but I am not a perfectionist , only a slight perfectionist. Kay

I think it is pretty as is. I like the idea below of the the gold FSL paisley design. I also think a cameo would look pretty on it. My idea.... Use white or cream felt, embroider a scalloped oval with a monogram letter inside it with coordinating colors. Cut out around the scallop and stitch onto the side of the purse. Good luck be sure to show us what you decide upon. Hugs, Susan

Belatedly, I would leave paisley as is, or stitch name or initial(s) in a rather large swoozie font. (That's a professional, technical term!)
