I have Windows 7 and when I burn a free design into a CD-RW, the design is in the CD but when I use my reader/writer, the design is not read into my sewing machine. Does anyone know what the problem is? I have a Gearhead/reader/writer.

My only guess would be that your reader/writer does not recognize RW discs especially if you cannot finalize the disc. You may need to burn and finalize a CD-R in order for your reader/writer to recognize the data. Good Luck. Hugs, Barba

It is not my reader/writer. Most of the designs will transfer into my sewing machine -Baby Lock Ellisimo. But occasionally some will not. It is not my reader/writer or the CD-RW discs or R discs. My friend opened up the design in her Designer Gallery lll so she put the design into my memory stick as she has a laptop that will not burn CD's. Thank you for responding.

There are many possibilities. One may be the design itself. Some designs made in newer software will not open in an older machine.
Can you give us more information?
What embroidery machine do you have?
Where did you get the design?
What error are you getting on your machine?

the machine I have is BabyLock ellissimo. I just talked to a friend and she had Designer Gallery 3 and that software opened up the design and she put it into a memory stick for me.It is a free designs by cuties-8047572 I only get a blank screen. Most of the designs I can copy into a CD-R or CD-RW Thanks for the response.
