This post is for anyone who has a multi needle machine similar to mine that can't use the small spools of thread on their machines due to how the built in thread spindles are designed....Jim & I came up with this device to use and it works beautifully. I have so many small metallic and variegated thread spools and was so disappointed to not be able to use them, now I can......the pic from the front shows how I can have 2 of the small spools going at one time and the pic from the back shows how we clamped the device onto the machine. Jim picked up the coated wire thingy at the hardware store for $1.00.......best buck we spent!!!

Clever way to be able to use up those spools. Those metallic threads are not cheap so glad you are able to use them. That coated thingy looks like a pegboard hook if others are interested but I've never seen one with such a long wire.

I have no clue what it is, but if anyone is interested I will ask him....I am just so happy I got something that works!! By the way, that is just foam on the ends to keep the spools from falling off the spindle as they roll......
If the foam wears out, try a bull dog paper clip...

It had a bar across the top that he cut the middle out of for the thread spools to slip on.....

They are peg board hooks. I have a peg board on the back of my sewing table and these are all over it holding scissors and other things I use all the time. There is a solution for all problems and Cuties are the best at solving them...lol..

I have peg board too, but I've not seen one like this.....maybe it is to put a basket in on a peg board? The whole thing had the coated white wire as a square around the perimeter.....
Your right, now that I look at the second picture. I was looking just at the top picture, now it has become a mystery thing, but it works and that is all that matters.

There is an accessory just for that. You can get them from Madeirausa.com. I purchased 16 so if I need to use small spools on all 16 needles I have what I need. They are called Madeira cone/spool holders. The item # is 100-7. They are only $.35 each. They are great. Look under accessories and then click on the thread care link. They work for all the small spools and you won't have to adjust the tube height. Very quick and easy to put on and take off.

Thanks, Marcelle, I do have these, about a dozen of them came with the machine, but they do not work for my skinny spools........they need to run horizontal not vertical........
