Updating Husqvarna Viking Designer Diamond Deluxe

I got a new metal magnetic frame so I had to update the machine in order for the machine to recognize the hoop. I spent hours last night, installing and uninstalling the 5D software, restarting my computer and finally got the computer to talk to the machine (I could have used a USB stitck).

Anyway, just when I thought I was getting close, I could not turn the machine on update mode no matter what I tried. I tried holding the two buttons down before switching the machine on, holding them at the same time, releasing the two buttons right away, keeping holding them....you name it. Nothing happened. I tried dozens of times and my machine still turns on in normal mode.

I finally went to bed after 1 am. Called the dealer and they asked whether I held the buttons down hard enough. I tried again so hard that I almost broke my fingers, nothing.

Finally I took the machine in and they did it right away, by holding 2 different buttons! As the snapshot below shows, I was asked to hold those two buttons, but at the store, their software told them to hold the Needle Up/Down and Restart Stitch button!

How frustrating is that!
