Realised yesterday that it was my mother's birthday. She would have been 100!! She died many years ago aged 64 - which is no age. Although we were not the greatest buddies, I still miss her. How she would have loved the embroidery work that I do.

I know she would have loved your embroidery work Sarah. Wow! 64 is young to die, especially as I'm now in my 60's and I hear of people dying that age! You still have some great memories of her I am sure. Love Chris

My mother died too young, too, and I have thought so many times how
much she would have been enjoyed machine embroidery! She would be totally amazed with today's technology. She made each of her children and grandchildren a quilt by hand during several years prior to her death. Those quilts are treasured; can't look at them without thinking of how much love went into them.
Losing my mama is the worse loss of my life, and I miss her dearly still. I would have loved to see the thrill on her face, had she lived to experience machine embroidery!

Mine too would have loved to have seen the embroidery. as a girl I sat watching her sew waiting for my turn. I still feel her with me I hope you do with your Mum .

I know the feeling too - my Mama died at the age of 59 very painful having breast cancer. In November this is 35 years ago - I was only 24 years old when she died and my father even died two years before my mother at the age of 62 years at a sudden heart attack. They missed my five younger children and that is the saddest thing of all - they would have been so happy and proud of the grand's.
I am now 59 years and also it's the time of year in November to think of those passed away. Yes, the older we get the more we miss our mothers.....
In this community I find it sooo comforting that we all often seem to have the same feelings and thoughts and it does not matter where in the world we live. Thank you, dear Airyfairy and keep on thinking the special woman in your life

My mom died a couple of days after her 59th birthday of a brain hemorrhage just 6 weeks after my dad died. That was 27 years ago and I always remember how long, my son was born between their deaths. I too just turned 60, had a big party to celebrate for both myself and my mom last December. I too miss them still and wish I could have shared my hobby with her. She loved sewing but it was mostly clothes for myself and my siblings(8) I don,t think it matters how old we are we will always miss them.

Happy Birthday, Mom. That's a big anniversary. I often think that my Mother and BOTH my mothers-in-law would have loved to see the embroidery work I do now. It's interesting the points in our lives that they touch, isn't it? I also had a not always great relationship with my mom and I don't miss THAT part!

Our mom's are always with us. When I get a smell of flowers where there are none I know she is letting me know that she is watching over me. We will always miss them no matter how old we are.
