Hi. It is Ashlea from Bunnycup Embroidery here. I have been advised that there has been some discussion on the Cute Embroidery boards wondering if Designs By Juju and Bunnycup Embroidery are run by the same person. Please note that the two sites are completely independent of each other. Julie Hesketh in New Hampshire owns and operates Designs By Juju. I, (Ashlea Stoodley), based in Brisbane, Australia owns and operates Bunnycup Embroidery. There is no affiliation what so ever with the two sites. I have also been advised that some members on this group are sharing our designs (and have a copy of one such email). Please be advised it is illegal and a breach of copyright to share digital embroidery files. Please do not share designs by emailing them to your friends. It robs the digitizer of potential income for which we work very hard for (and invest significant capital into) and is akin to stealing. As always, it would be just a small group sharing and this does not effect most of you, but as a digitizer it is worth reminding those who are sharing that it is the wrong thing to do (and illegal) Thank you.
You know that I love your designs (and I'm a much too good buyer - ask my paypal-account ;o) and I hope you will still tempt me to sell more designs than I could stitch in 5 lifetimes. Your designs on my lamps looks so cute and I'm addicted to your fairies (and pirates and princesses and gnomes and animals...).
Greetings, Bettina
I love both of your sites and you are both very talented digitizers.
Thank you Marji for clarifying that it is stealing not sharing. I hope those that violate copyright read this post from Bunnycup and realize that is isn't just a few that believe it is wrong -- it is actually violating the law and stealing from people who are trying to earn a living.
I am the one started the discussion comparing the two sites a few days ago. I mentioned some similarities, especially the website designs seem very similar and some categories are similar. I know most embroidery sites have similar categories, but you both have some uncommon categories, and that's when I started wondering.
I love both sites and there are so many sets I would love to buy from your site hopefully soon if you are going to have a big holiday sale. I actually looked through every page and added many sets to my wishlist after purchasing from juju's site the other night as she has a good sale now. I had both sites open making sure I don't get too many sets in the same category. I know your designs are not the same, but I already have designs I can never stitch out in my lifetime, and I was trying to not to collect, for example, too many robots sets.
You are very generous to offer so many retired sets for free. I have downloaded most of them and hope to try them out soon.
Thank you for the clarification and I hope my discussion didn't upset you in anyway. If I have, I apologize.
I totally agree that it's is wrong and illegal to share embroidery designs. I hope nobody thinks I am the one who is doing that.
Best luck with your business!
Lucia
You are so lovely. No, I am not upset in the slightest by the comparison and I completely understand where you are coming from. Both Designs by Juju and we have very cutesy style designs with similar themes - but that comes from both of us having a LOT of collections and both of us also trying to keep up with the market trends. I just don't want people to think that we are hiding anything. I do know that Designs by Juju is extensively redoing their site so hopefully the sites will be very different when they do (and we are actively working on our members log in area to provide a different range of options to our site). So they should on face value look very different soon too. Thanks for the lovely compliments and please know that I am by no means upset by the comparison!
Thank you so very much
Ashlea
