Monday, 11 November is a day that is very special to some people. I am saying some because not all have served or had anyone close to them serve in the military. I see on television all the ads for the physically wounded soldiers coming back from the more recent wars. But, what of those that are still alive from WWII, Korea and Viet Nam? They not only suffer from physical but altered mental states. Most, are too proud to seek help. Most have been ignored by the United States. But, I want to extend my sincere thanks, praise and appreciation for all that they have sacrificed so we my have our freedom. Cori

I am (for another 6 months) still an Active Duty Dependent. There is help for all veterans from all wars. You are correct in saying they are often too proud to seek help,. But help is out there. There are many agencies including the Wounded Warrior program and the Veteran's Administration. I encourage anyone who knows of any Veteran who needs help to help them to get that help. Also, Hospice is actively working to be of service to any Veteran who is dying. Not all Hospice programs have been trained to help the Vets and their families, but the training is working its way through. Thank you for remembering the people who are near and dear to my heart.

Thank you! My late Dad was at Pearl Harbor, my late husband Bud was a Marine, and my late husband Richard's late brother Jim was a Marine Sniper in Korea, went thru Chosin Reservior, horrible things in Korea, a really forgottten war. My late Uncles were all in WWII in one way or another, Navy, Marines, Army Air Corps, Merchant Marine. Half my friends from college came back from Vietnam either drug addicts or in body bags. I attended 25 funerals before I was 25 years old. God bless those who serve, and if you see a person in uniform, even a State Policeman, thank him/her for the dangerous job they've taken on.
