I found this idea on the Urban Threads site so I used a test stitchout to try it. I wish I'd left the stabiliser in place behind the white fabric.

Looks very nice. I agee, this project needs a bit more support in the fabrics to make a sturdy pocket. This is good use for your test stitch-out.

The test design was a square - I cut it in half and added a lining the same as the back fabric. The white fabric is loosely woven so the colour of the lining shows where there is no stabiliser at the bottom.

Still, it looks quite nice. I wonder could you pin a flower or something on the lower part to cover the lining showing through?

Years back, a similar 'container' was constructed to house paper cake doilies. Give it a try!

I'm afraid it is too late now I've pulled some of the stabiliser out.
