Avery's jacket sergered and finished.WSS is still at buttonholes and my chalk marks, sorry.Just had to show you how nice the seams inside were too.Thanks Cuties for all the advice.Fleece was so much easier to serge than to sew, seams aren't so thick.I still don't like the color for her, it is black, but it was the color I had enough yardage in.Guess what? mom wants Nora one to match, it is in the making.I tried and I say that loosely, to use an applique to stand alone, just to add some color.I wasn't sure to do one on each pocket and tack on or use it as a brooch/pin at the chest/shoulder.Well, I do hope my 'advisors' take a look.I may be the silly one, but I do like my inside to look nice too.-Thanks-Toogie

wow!!! i have a serger....and some fleece, i had bought a jacket pattern for my girls years ago, but i bet they are in the next pattern size up by now....if i had seen this then I would have jumped in.
right now I am drilling out the hinge holes for my closet door, so that i can fill with pegs and hopefully rescrew the hinges (the door was falling off because the holes were stripped) and i am trying to finish a stained glass window that i had thought to have done for xmas for my brother LAST year! and i have to get the living rearranged because we got a new tv/speakers and xbox stuff is everywhere.
And i am here looking for an advent calendar....i get so distracted by the beautiful work!

Here's a hint for "fixing" holes in wood for screws. Tap a golf Tee into the hole then redrill. Works perfectly. It's a locksmith's trick.

I think that is why we all have sergers. I like the inside to look as good also. I can't stand it when you buy something an you see all the loose threads just left hanging.. pet peeve of mine.
Do you have enough to make hats that you could embroider on, then it would give it some colour....

It looks great! I didn't have a serger when my kids were little, but now that I have one, I don't want to be without one! They are awesome!

Oh, wow, Toogie! It looks really, really nice. I like the extra touch on the pocket and perhaps you could cut a scarf to be tacked at the back of the neck for that extra color you are looking for.
