Does anyone know where my embroidery foot is? I took it off the machine to put the sewing foot on and haven't seen it since. I've looked everywhere, including emptying my rubbish bag out on the floor. Where was yours when you last lost it?

Luckily I have a spare.

Always check your pockets. At my house I must also check my husbands pockets and his desk and his car and his...for my stuff. LOL
I could check his desk for your embroidery foot if you like.
I am so glad you have a spare!

It's right there in that basket that used to be organized, but is just a mish-mash of widgets now.

I did that! I was moaning to a friend and she looked and looked as well..then she got up and walked over and picked it up from the floor...where I had just swept! The thing needs to be florescent, or magnetic, or tied to a string around my ankle!

I have to have multiples, I misplace everything or put it in a "safe" place, and once out of mind. I am the same way with notes, time to create, time to search for, and then time to throw in trash!

Ha ha ha!!! Now see there.....that's what you get for "cleaning & organizing" your sewing room. If you had left well enough alone, you would be able to go right to it in the jumbled mess your creative space used to be.

Well, I'm just teasing you, of course. But this is the very kind of thing that would happen to me. I keep a small basket on my sewing table to put all the little bits in as I use/change them. Once done with a project, I put (try to, anyway) those small things away properly so I have a better chance at finding them next time.

Mine is clear, bet yours is too! So hard to find. I have a little bowl by the machine I put them in when I take them off or I'd spend half my life hunting for things...still am hunting about 1/4 of the time!! Good luck!

But I keep a basket by the machine also for my odds and ends. Also have an apron thing that has a flap that sits under the macnine. Love the pockets. Holds all the different scissors in their special pocket. Etc. But would never put something like thefoot in there. Too small. Good luck.

I put mine in my pocket once so I would not lose it. Promptly forgot about it. I cleaned the whole sewing room (good way to get it organised) to no avail. When checking my trouser pockets before washing..........

Mine was last behind my machine, kind of tucked under it. I hate this when it happens. It has also been playing over on my cutting table with the feet of my other machine. Sometimes it just runs away!

Pleased to hear you have a spare. Sorry I do not have yours. I am going to buy a spare next time I go to the sewing store as I am sure I will lose mine one day. I am also going to buy a spare cover for the bobbin case as that seems to dissapear on me quite a bit. I am always losing things. Still have not found my external hardrive I hid over 6 years ago. . Ha! had that fright just this morning. I started at 6.30 today to 'positively sew something today' and couldn't find my 2A foot. 1A was in the machine; really needed 2A. Hunted all over and then decided to look at all my machine feet - all six of them!!! - in the machine tools hatch. There it was, 2A, upside down in its little niche, clear plastic side uppermost.
By this time it's about 7 a.m. and soon I have to get DHDon up and about. I've squashed in about 15 minutes sewing.... but I Have Sewn Today.
I hope you find your foot. Have you tried your pin container?? your gadgets container that might be sitting by your machine?? Have you looked closely by every chair and table leg where it might have settled if it slipped off the sewing table??
Give me a couple of thousand dollars and I'll come over and help you look..... :} .... I'm longing to slip my moorings here for a while.

Hope by now you have found it. So frustating when we do things like that-I speak from experience! Is yours clear like mine? Hard to see even when you know where it is. I was down on my hands and knees rubbi ng all over the floor and luckily found mine. I put a little dot of red nail polish on it so now it does show up a little better.

Yesterday my bent-tip tweezers disappeared in the middle of a project. Looked on all the tables, counters, shelves. Searched all the drawers multiple times. Even moved the thread caddy out and (GASP!) swept the floor under it and the machine cabinet. Finally gave up and got another pair. After supper when I went back to the sewing room, I found the tweezers suspended on an electrical cord hanging from the cabinet - halfway between floor and table!

I keep a little plastic cup next to my machine, I keep both feet there when I'm not using it, otherwise stays on my machine. I also put my empty bobbins in it along with my little tool that undoes the feet and the plate under the presser foot. Knock on wood, have not done that yet but I would lose my head if not attached. lol!

Oh dear! Certainly you have searched your pockets and possibly
(hand)bags lying around your embroidery working place? Try a look
into the thread spool inside if you know what I mean / Should we
search Karla's living room ? What helps me often is remembering
what I have done last around working with the missing item.
Did I go to the kitchen in between? Did the phone ring or the doorbell?
Or did I do some laundry - hope you will find it soon! Hugs Maria

The thing I loose the most is the little plastic piece that covers the bobbin area. I lay it down and it wanders off. Usually turns up behind the machine. Thought I'll buy a spare but that little piece of plastic is $8.00. Luckily my Brother sewing machine has the same type as the emb machine. And I have found it once again until the next time.

If it is a clear foot ,its probably sitting there staring at you, waiting for you to find it .
Have you looked under the machine .I hunted every where for my machine tweezers the other day ,They had fallen down the small gap between the sewing tables & got stuck half way down ,had to use a 2ft long ruler to move them.I run this ruler under the sewing cabinets a lot to check for missing items that I can't see but I can hear a noise if they connect with the ruler, saves pulling everything out.

OK....please put us out of our misery. Have you found your foot yet??
Are you really going to try to do some one-legged embroidery??
Following this 'thread' I did some tidying around my machine today and I've found some very interesting stuff. I don't need or want it but it's still interesting. Well... if you really want to know, I found an unfinished Christmas apron begun ages ago and now it's finished!! I'm the only one I know who wears an apron for Kitchen Work around here so this little beauty is for me and it fits perfectly.... even has two wooden snowflake buttons to hold the neck strap and I bought those buttons in Scottsdale, AZ, at Hancock's before it closed many, many moons ago.
Your lost foot has done it's work for the day!!!

I found it this morning - nestling in one of the grooves where the iron stands on the ironing board. I'm sure I didn't put it there!! Perhaps I do have a house elf.
Thanks to you all for looking and giving me so many laughs in your posts to this thre

Oh, you found it!.. :{ .. I was quite looking forward to planning a trip to help you look for it. Oh well, maybe next time.
Actually I'm really glad that you did find it there>>>if it had been on the floor and you trod on it you could have damaged it, or your foot. We'll all have to add the ironing board to our 'places to look' for things in future.

I lost two hoops for my machine last year at this time and I never did find them. I was the only person here during that time so I have to believe that I threw them in the trash by mistake. Replacing them did not make me happy.

Sue, I'm glad you found it!! You're too young to be doing this, you know. My Mom and I both would move things to a "safe place" where we'd be sure to know where they were. Then forget where the "safe place" was! My late mother always swore if she ever found that "safe place" she put all that stuff she couldn't find, she'd be rich, hee hee hee. Hugs, Marji
