I hope you have put it on your list then, Carolyn. Bags are easy and easier also to decorate before they are stitched up at the sides! Start simple maybe, by making a pocket with an embroidery design on it, add that to the fabric you've cut out for the bag (I usually have fabric folded at the base so there is no seam at the bottom). Next is side seams, then fold under a hem for the top -include a strip of ribbon with a keyring on it for keys if you like. You can use webbing or make your own handles and fold them under the top hem when you do it to give more strength.
