If you need a quick & inexpensive gift this is a good idea & very yummy too. Recipe for Brownie Mix in a jar.
Dry ingredients Bake 350 25-30 minutes
1 c sugar
1/2 c all purpose flour
1/3 c cocoa
1/4 tsp baking powder
mix in a jar one ingredient @ a time I also added chopped walnuts about 1 cup
Add a gift card explaining these are wet ingredients to add 2 eggs 1/2 c applesauce & 1 tsp vanilla when it is cooked it looks like this & when it is cooled I will ice it too. Had to do a practice run just to be sure it would be ok you could add chocolate or white chips or even butterscotch chips too that would add a pretty layer too

without the nuts this will cost on average 30 cents to make yourself! Presentation is everything so make a fancy card & a topper or towel to go with this & voila! This is such a busy time of year I for one love to receive these they are quick & in a pinch so easy to do @ a moments notice

I re-read my post, what i meant was my sugar cookie towel - put sugar cookie ingredients in the jar.

They are moist & chewy & so good but the jar size is the small one even with the nuts, I will double check

I don't have any more small jars so I am debating about adding chocolate chips to mine or getting another jar but this is what it looks like in the quart jar, if you add the nuts & you use a small jar most people add pcs & not halves so a small jar would work well too

in this photo I have used brown sugar not white but the batch I made I used white I just think the brown adds more colour to the jar LOL
I love the layering, makes it look like those expensive sand tsculpts, except this is a yummy one!!
