Lazy woman's guide to decorating a Christmas cake - finished product.

The "tablecloth" is square (length of each side = top plus both sides of cake to be covered.) The central square only has wadding under it. The square design is from DBS.

I used a decorative stitch from my sewing machine to finish off the edges, then I stitched across the corners as shown in the second picture. Finally, I pressed the corners flat to give a neater finish.

The fruit cake has marzipan on but no icing.

I don't think this is the lazy woman's way of decorating, but it is lovely. I know you took some time to do this.

What a unique idea. It looks lovely and will stay that way no matter how many pieces are cut away from the cake. Thank you for sharing.

C'est très joli Sue. Une bonne idée et le point décoratif de la machine est très bien réussi. Bravo. Bises.

I don't think you would ever qualify for the "Lazy Woman" title, Sue - but I love your project!

Gorgeous Sue, and if you tucked it all up you wouldn't even know it wasn't icing! Love Chris
