First ornament finished and gifted. This is from lee(smithandsmith). I added a touch of lace and FSL, forgot the crystal even though I found the heat wand. Next one will be perfect. and yes my holder part is too small and I have no idea how to fix it, I think just cut it off.

Thank you, Embellishing takes more time than stitching for sure!

Very pretty embellished. The bottom part well only things I can think of is skinner cane or I would cut off the fold as you mention here carefully and use as a guide for shape if needed. Then use the shape cut new on fold but making longer height so cane could slip in once done and adding enough also for restitching to shoe on back sewing choice straight or zig zag in black. Then there is the just cut off for a old fashioned style shoe it is very lovely what you have done.

Thank you so much I have 2 more to do, and I think I will make the changes before I do the embellishing.

I made Lee's other candy cane holders. On one (the sleigh) I made the fold at the bottom too small also. I just cut the loop open and sewed a piece of felt on to the loop and sewed it back up.

The "holder part" is adjusted by the size of the fold at the bottom. Just let more hang off of the bottom to fit your candy cane.

I think I used the smaller mini candy cane for a ice skate.

You made that really fancy. I'd cut it loose on the back side and add an extension.

looks great.
To fit the bigger candy canes just put the fold line a little below the stitched out placement line (1st colour in the pattern) and they fit perfectly, as I found out on my second try at making these :-)
