I have sewn so much bias (miles of it I am sure) that I can almost do it with my eyes closed (not) LOL. I still screw up once in a while and have to take it apart but in the most part it comes out nicely. My #1 tip, make sure you dont't cut it too wide, #2 don't pull on your bias when sewing it into place and #3, make sure your fabric is snug against your bias otherwise there will be puckering, (hate puckering)
