These are three Christmas ornaments made with CD's. The designs are from Embroidery Garden. I have had these designs for ages and just now gave them a try! The Santa is an applique.

Sue actually had a CD design on Designs by Cuties - but, I hadn't downloaded it. I have had these for a long time - so, I thought I would give them a try. I worried that my machine needle would hit the CD, but, of course, it didn't!! Merry Christmas and thanks! Laura*

well, I down loaded Sue's design but it's on the computer in the repair shop. I love the santa applique - is that pattern available? When I get the computer back I can see making a ton of these ahead. They are too cute.

Thank you Alison!! These designs, I purchased from Embroidery Garden many many moons ago ... it is a set with about 3 more designs (including an adorable applique reindeer). But, if you had Sue's design - you could put something else in the center!! Hugs to you and Merry Christmas!! Laura*

Nice work. They would be great as coasters, too.

Very nice....I also have had reservations about my needle hitting the CD...perhaps I will be braver in 2014!

I have to admit - I kinda "held my breath" for the first few stitches - you really have to spray the Cd and place it correctly on the back and put the back fabric on behind it. It worked each time!! Merry Christmas, Kim!! Hugs, Laura*

Lovely! Great use of the design - no need to worry about using the CD there is plenty of clearance. I only had a problem once while testing a design. I had the parts in the wrong order, and tried to stitch through the CD. It didn't break the needle!)
