This is who decorated my living room this year instead of my tree. I made him a couple of years back and this year added some embroidery to the front of his dress. This St. Nicolas is imposing but he is beautiful. I buy the hands and face (porcelaine) and then I make everything from scratch. His beard is made from angora mohair (that I buy directly from the goat farmers and have to clean, big job) but he is one of a kind. Instead of a bag I opted for the corpunica that is well loaded with gifts to deliver to all those who have been good (and some not so good lol).
He and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and the very best in 2014.
thanks for all your encouragement throughout the year and bless you all

To answer a few of your question,
he stands around 35 inches tall and yes I made him so I can totally undress him and give him a brand new wardrobe if I get tired of this one (which is likely to happen with me LOL).
I have no pattern, just made him up myself, have made many of these and sold them all, probably 50 or more.
Again thank you to all for your lovely comments, they are all appreciated
hugs to all and continued happy holidays
Michelle
big hug and wishes for a healthy, properous and happy new year
