Tonight's sunset sky was like they teach in art class - yellow. I've never seen this! The cold front was rolling in really fast, so light grey clouds that were darkest navy at the base. Then in and out among the clouds were pencil thin peach streaks. It was like Alfred Hitchcock movie or Halloween. Another color study.

.... and a purist quilter would probably throw her hands up in despair that someone would use those colours to portray a sunset like that in a quilt. They are my colours - brilliant, unusual, wonderful and true.
I used to say to my son when we driving home through the early sunset in winter, 'Look, Dominic, one day God will come sliding down one of those rays and say to you, Hey Dom how was it at school today!'
I loved your description of that beautiful sunset and I loved that it touched you enough to share. Thank you.
