I did this design to try Burmilana. . Burmilana has different quality and thickness, Most designs are digitised for No40,

It's a woollen thread, quite a bit thicker (12wt) than the usual 40wt embroidery thread. So the design has to be made for the thicker thread (lower density, greater stitch length) and it needs a needle with a large eye. Madeira has some needles for Burmilana and other decorative threads.

it is lovely, can I ask if this is done with the wool thread from Madeira? I have a box full of it and not been able to use it. If you did use this what needle did you use??Thanks

just googled it; yes, it is a brand name for the finely spun wool thread you know as madeira.

Nicely done...it has that hand stitched look of crewel embroidery...good job! What needle did you use and did you do anything special to the tension (upper and/or bobbin) to get it to sew out?
