I am so depressed! I haven't been near my sewing room for weeks and weeks.... My husband has some fevers back again. Up night & day (why is it that fevers and such get worse at 2 am ?) Last fall he went for a PET scan to add to all the other tests he has had, and still everything comes back negative. Before Christmas the Dr. did yet more blood tests and said that they would take 6 to 8 weeks so we have no results yet on those. He finally phoned for an appointment to see his regular doctor tomorrow but she is booked. He feels that this is just a flu virus but I am still worried because of the fevers. We just get one finished and it seems that in another couple of hours it is back! Sorry for ranting but I have no one else to rant to. I suppose the good thing is that the specialist has ruled out a lot of the bad stuff (she says). No cancers, tumors, lymphoma or leukemia. Some prayers would be welcome just the same. Thanks for listening.

Sorry you have no news; waiting is always the hardest part...guess you have to catnap when you can and I hope you manage to eat some to keep you going. Will add you to the list, and try to imagine your cute friends staying up with you late at night, since some of us have different time zones...

Hi,I don't know how long this has been going on, but I was sick with fevers too.I had fever from Sept 22 until Oct 19, and I am talking about from 101 degree to 103. My only other systom was headache.I had brain scans,ultrasounds,blood work, nothing showed up.I had some more scan and finally the ONLY thing that showed up was I had a non-fuctioning gall bladder.The surgeon said it did need to come out, but he didn't garantee that would solve my problem.He took it out,I had fever another 9 days. Couldn't sent test to CDC because government shut down, so who knows?...Maybe check the gall bladder, mine didn't show on the ultrasound, had to do the dye test.Don't know if that was the cause of FEVER or not...Please let me know what you do and how he is.I know you are worried, my husband and I both,cried in helplessness.-Toogie

Nadyne, I'm so sorry and I'll continue to pray for your darling husband and for you. At least you don't have to torture yourself wondering about the bad things that are ruled out. The fever is trying to tell his doctors something. At least they have ruled out some of the worst diseases. Will be praying that he will be diagnosed soon.

I don't know where you live, but perhaps a second opinion would be in order. I do know the flu we have had here in GA. has been very bad this year. I wipe the grocery carts down each time I enter. Almost scared to get out much. I had my flu shot as soon as they came out ,but my immune system is shot and I have to be so careful. Kay

Thank you. We have an appointment with the duty doctor so we will go from there...We have had our shots also but like yourself, my husbands immune system took a hit with the high doses of prednisone he was on.

First, I am praying for him (and you, too). Second, does he have headaches or sinus problems? My first husband had lots of fevers because his sinuses had closed up and he kept infection in there all the time. He had a relatively simple surgery, a few weeks recovery and he was out of that fever cycle. I hope it's something simple, findable, and fixable, as that was. P.S. No medical degree! LOL
