I agree with Basketkase and will add that it is so important for people, young and old, to realize that they have support when they're alone and that the support may come from various sources. We were always taught to join a church when we moved away because that is always a constant in our lives. Having our immediate family and our church family caring for us is extremely powerful; you're a wonderful example of the caring church family.

Wonderful gesture. it is a big step to move out and be on your own and they forget what all they don't have till they go for something. A box of goodies will come in handy for him as he makes the transition.

How thoughtful and helpful. This is a tremendous undertaking for him to start on his own and he'll be reminded of the goodwill and support he received when he sees this.
