if I ask someone to test the design, what exactly do they do? Tell me where the mistakes are? Fix it? I not sure... lol

You can give your tester a list of what you want them to do: stitch it out, send you a picture and remarks about the design - what stabiliser they used, if they found problems like gaps, poor registration of outlines, unnecessary jumps, density (bulletproof, not dense enough), underlay (could be missing in some parts) etc.
You do not want them to fix things (that is what you do afterwards in your design file), you want an opinion on the design as it is, the more detailed the better.
