I ask someone else (one who is always honest) what they think. If it needs help -- then I usually ruin the design by trying (and failing) to use fabric paints to make it look better. LOL
Then I start all over again.
I hope someone does better things with their -- less than beautiful work -- than I do! LOL

Make it a pincushion? Yes, wait till morning. It will look better or WORSE. That's when I revert to a tried and true design for the next endeavor.

I sew out most of the designs before I sew them on anything. Mostly to see if I like the colors and how they turn out. You will find something to do with it. LOL!

Both ideas of leave it for a day or so & ask someone else's opinion are VERY valid.
We all have stitch outs that don't turn out the way one thinks they will.

I know that sinking feeling so well!!! I usually put it away for a day then look at it again. If I still hate it, I just pick myself up, remind myself it is only a design, and start looking for another design to use!! I always try to stitch out a new design on something that 'doesn't matter' but can still be used, like a tea towel or fabric that can be made into a pocket to be put on a shopping bag or back pack. Have had a few major disasters but love my embroidery machine so much I won't let them get me down!! ♥♥

Don't worry too much. Just put the Piece into a Zip Bag. At a later Date you might need an odd Design and you goe back to it.Never throw a Piece away.Hugs

Hi Caroline, you could start by asking yourself the following.....
Q1. Is it the design or the stitch out you are not happy with?
Q2. Is there something about the digitising or is it the designs overall appearance?
Q3. Could a different choice of colours improve it?
By the time you have mulled over these questions you should have an answer or three as to why you aren't happy with it, so, depending on these answers you will have an idea of what to do with it, or you will have another whole set of questions.

Just one thing, if it is a digitising problem perhaps you could contact the digitiser and let her/him know about it.

Never judge with tired eyes.. place it some where you can glance occasionally, this is what i do.. you will soon learn it's a yes or a no design.. if it's a no put it in a draw make later something else from it
