After spending 11yrs in Saudi Arabia, I wanted to take part of Saudi back to Canada with me. The last pic is a sewing machine cover made out of a gutra (the headgear that the Saudi men wear on their head). Saudi will always hold a very large part of my heart! Hugs

Great projects. I like your use of the gutra. I am in currently in the UAE and I am always looking for unique ways to use local fabrics and textiles.

Thanks. How r u enjoying the UAE? We use to get great fabric in Dubai for cheap, cheap, cheap! Fabulous quilters there as well! One day, I would like to attend the quilt show there again and surprise friends from Riyadh. Don't know when that will happen tho! It's a long trip!
