My first split 4x6 designs using the Enthusiast software from Embrilliance. They are Saucer Snowman & Bicycle Snowman from Daffy Down Dilly. The snowflakes are from KatieDo & the letters are from my Embrilliance software. I stitched these on burlap, not the store bought, but from burlap bags that grain came in from the feed mill. I used Solvy on top & added a piece of white cotton between the burlap & my stabilizer. I plan to make cushion covers & will turn the edges under and stitch them as top panels onto an antique-look, tea-dyed colored, material...I don't know what the material is called, but I think it's a thick cotton of some kind, maybe unbleached muslin. I inherited it from my mother's stash of material when she passed away. But I love the primitive, antique look.

I do think I got a little bit too close when I took the pictures, but maybe you can see them okay. The pictures make them look wrinkled, but they aren't.

I hope I have done this correctly because this is, also, my first time of posting a project. Thanks to all whom helped me figure out the uploading problem. Wow! Now that was fast uploading! I had never used Google Chrome before now.

Love them, Love them, love them! The colors are brilliant and you are so way ahead of me.I have never done a split design, other than the ones Loralye and dragonflyer have digitized, but I know that is not what you mean here. You really have 'wow-ed' me ! Very good.-Toogie

Toogie, you have me blushing. I'm so happy that you like them. But I can't be way ahead of you because the splitting part was all done with the Enthusiast software which was so easy to use. With 100x172 hoop that will fit the Brother SE-400, I don't have to re-hoop the material...just move it to the other end for the second stitching. I wish it would split something like a 6x10 design into four parts, that would be awesome...of course I would have to re-hoop the material that way. But I happy being able to stitch the 4x6 in two stitchings without re-hooping. Thank you again for your inspiration.

So nicely stitched to match up perfectly. Sometimes I take a picture because when it is bigger on the screen you can see what was missed like clipping jump stitches.

Looks awesome with the burlap and the bright colors. I'm sure those will be wonderful cushions.
So happy for you that you managed to upload your beautiful pics. Sometimes we have to try something new (I use firefox, google chrome and safari cause not every page likes my favorite firefox). That's what I love here at Cute: You always find help and get great advices :o)
Greetings, Bettina

Thank you. I'm glad you like them. Burlap is, also, neat to make coasters & stitch around the edge & let them fringe...if you like the primitive look.

Thank you, I'm glad you like them. Yes, I think of mom almost every time I go into my sewing room. She was one of the best seamstress in the whole world....not because she was my mom, she was just that good. An Aunt on my dad's side whom mom had sewn for asked me recently if I'd sew for her now. I told my husband later, yes, I'll sew for her, but she must understand I'm not Bessie (my mom).

Wonderful job on the burlap. It reminds me of my Grandpa he had a favourite saying. "Remake,Make Do or go with out" that was what they had to do after the War when he was a young man. He kept to that all his life he wasn't a mean or tight fisted man but I think his generation was our first Recyclers.

Thank you, I'm glad you like them. I, too, grew up living that motto in a farm family of 10 children. My siblings tell me "you're just like Ma (our maternal grandmother)". I don't know of anyone I'd rather be like. She was a wonderful, talented lady with a great sense of humor, used all the old-style home remedies of natural herbs, etc. But she, also, lived to be almost 100 years old. I own her treadle sewing machine that I learned to sew on. She could squeeze a penny until she made Lincoln squeal, but as you stated about your grandpa, she was not mean, nor tight-fisted in any way. She devoted her life to helping others.
