I cannot believe that it is only 9 days ago that I posted that my wonderful stepsons mother had been diagnosed with cancer of the esophagus. Today he phoned us to tell us that the cancer has spread to other organs and the doctors are still deciding whether to try chemo or not. Seeing him on Skype in tears was just heart wrenching. He is exactly the same age I was when I lost my mother to this terrible disease. Be strong Philip - we love you so much.

He is just so far away. He lives in Brussels, his mother in Munich and his father and I in South Africa.

Oh, Sarah. Bless your heart. How sad to see him so upset and being unable to hug him and comfort him. You can certainly empathize with his pain in this loss and it must be hurting your heart even more. My prayers for you and your husband and especially for Philip.

Thank you Jerrilyn - it has been a real bad day. Josh was not operated on today - looks like Thursday, my little dog is not well and I think that in a while I will have to make the dreaded decision.......

You are being heaped upon. I'm so sorry you are having such a bad time. Take things one at a time. I hope there wasn't something wrong with Josh. I came back to check and see if you had updated on him. I will continue to pray and include your furbaby. Maybe he is suffering because the one he loves is suffering. Try and take care of yourself and don't get so stressed that you become ill. Hugs, big strong hugs.

What an advocate God has given this young couple during this time- with a mother's heart and similar circumstances, you are surely the one to love them through this experience.

Prayers are with you & your family. I know you can be a great comfort to him as you, too, have walked that same road at his age. Stand strong & pray.

He is probably also frustrated that nothing is being done for her yet. Sending prayers for the family.

Thank you Anita. She is in one of the top hospitals in Munich. The problem is if she is strong enough for the chemo as she has deteriorated so badly in such a few days.
