What a beautiful applique A! I love how you incorporated the name in at a slant. Just lovely-I would not change a thing.

I like the satin stitching with the over stitching - that way a slight oops of a catch is not a disaster with unraveling. Looks like you have the zig-zag there so that works - you could add the straight stitch as a separate color stop so people can choose if they like it or skip it.
