I have had my MRI done yesterday & things have changed @ this hospital in the last year (my last MRI was here in town we are outdated!) They give you a helmet to wear that sits on the top of the machine & covers your face rather like a skiing helmet without the backside. For me this was a great improvement no fear of that silly green thing touching my face. One of the best improvements they have made is because they told me on Sat not to wear any piercings (ears) or metals or jewelry I came dressed with a genie bra, track pants, Tee & a sweater with plastic buttons I did NOT have to wear that ridiculous hospital gown!!!! BIG improvements. She started off screwing up my IV & took 3 times to get it so now I have 3 holes in my arm & today it is Carolyn's favorite colour. but then another one came & measured my head before the procedure & the swelling has reduced 3 inches from last year!!!!!!!! 3 whole inches Trust me when I say I felt it. She told me right off the bat that she was doing two 3 minutes tests then the 4 min test then she would come in & start the radiation drip & then the dye for 4 minutes & then a 3 minute one & then I would be done..............I was ok with that thinking 22 minutes I can do this (there is a 1 min wait between each so she can program the machine) all was going well until she did the last test & when the 3 minute was to start she said ok this is it the last one hang in there you are doing great.............. when she was done she said very softly ah I just want to check the timing.....................she came back & said in a very forced cheerful voice (you know we can tell this! honestly) well I am just going to do this one more time & so she did. then she held my hand & walked me back to where hubby was sitting? that was also NEW. I speculated all the way home & I am done guessing or worrying anymore for now. I will get the results in 3 weeks time & then have to go back to see the Dr. to get them. I will say this when she was just about to put me inside the chamber she ok go to your happy place now.......a lovely tropical island. I went "on a cutie cruise & imagined meeting all of you & it was so much fun trying to remember everyone's name" It really did help!

Good Job! One question...where ever did you find a boat or is it a ship big enough to carry all the wonderful people on this site? Will still be ASAP (Always Saying A Prayer) for you.

Well, I'm thankful that it is over for you. I wouldn't speculate too much about the procedure. Perhaps someone passed out in the hall before that is why now they walk everyone out. (easy explanation!)
I love your happy place and hope you saved me a seat!
I will continue to pray for you, sweet Loralye. Congratulations on loosing 3 inches! That really sounds promising.

I am so very thankful that it is over for you. What a great idea to try and think of all the Cutie names to keep your mind busy. I must remember that one. The three weeks will pass quickly - spend lots of time with us here on Cute. Love and hugs Sarah.

I am so proud of you getting through yet another MRI. And the swelling has gone down 3 inches! Hurray for you!!! I am praying for good results. You have been through so much and have met every challenge graciously. I loved your idea of a Cutie cruise while in the machine. I pray and remember favorite vacations during MRIs.

Loralye, that is GREAT news about the 3 inch shrinkage! Now, speculate this one... when she said she had to "do this one more time" she probably forgot to turn the machine on and didn't want to admit that LOL. All will be well, think positive thoughts and it will be. Flowers to you and to all!

Those were really big improvements in the testing and apparatus. So happy for you it was more pleasant than the other times and sounds there was more compassion for the patient (you). Keeping happy thoughts for a good report on the results from the testing. Hugs!

It was nice to finally meet you in person!! lol! A 3 inch shrinkage - great! That's probably why they did a second time - couldn't believe the great progress! But, then again, maybe she didn't wait long enough for the one of them?!
The 3 week wait will go fast with you keeping busy with your emb. and being here on cute!
Only good thoughts please!

So that's why I was dreaming of sipping Mai tais on the deck of the Titanic!!! I was beginning to worry why I was seeing Kate Winslet in my dreams but it also explains why I was searching for a funny caricature lady with a white face, glasses and bright red lips right before I fell overboard and woke up to find myself flailing around in a bath tub half full of water. :-)))
All jokes aside, I am so glad your MRI went well for you Loralye and a THREE INCH reduction, WOW! WOW! WOW! I am thrilled to bits for you girlfriend.
Now where are we going for three weeks while we await the results, would you like to see ALASKA? I believe the Alaskan cruise is awesome, and it would probably take three weeks there and back.
OK, well meet me and the other Cuties at the dock and we'll dream up a storm of fun, sailing to Alaska, every night for the next three weeks until you get your GREAT news. (great news always takes longer to arrive so no negative thoughts please)
Huge hugs and blessings and lots of love and positive thoughts and an Angel or two, too, to watch over you, Meg

I like the concept of the cruise. I've noticed lots of medical places are doing more to provide comfort, reassurance and friendliness/service as part of their protocol. Advertising is important, but word of mouth is an important (and free) form of advertising and people do talk about their bad hospital experiences. I hope the wait is not too bad.
