I'm adding pictures of my first attempt at making scrappy quilt bags to my garden. I used a pattern for the bag with no name. Then I made my own pattern for my daughter-in-law's bag. I embroidered her name. She wanted a bag to carry her computer. My bag (bottom picture) looks great when I'm wearing jeans.

Okay, you teased me. You mention a pattern for your bag but not where you got it. Brand name pattern? Free pattern? They are both lovely. Very nice idea and beautiful work.

I had an old simplicity pattern my mother gave me years ago when I was not sewing. I kept it just in case one day I would sew. It came in handy. My daughter-in-law-'s bag was just a rectangle (we wont tell her, lol)

Thanks for answering. I have a few bag patterns I better go look at. Hahahaha, the rectangle is also something I need to make for my laptop. I have the old 40 pound leather laptop case that was the "thing" to have in 2000. Thank God somebody got smart and figured out a padded lightweight bag would work wonderfully and save the shoulders. Really exceptional ideas, both.

I'm sure it looks great when you wearing jeans. Its beautiful with the flower fabric. And I do no sure how to say this, but the sewing of the parts, its perfectly stitched en pieced together.

Love both bags... You did a wonderful job as you surely know.. Enjoy seeing that you used the dec stitches on the patchwork..The bow make out of a section of the strap and button are just the finishing touch.. Thank you for the inspiration..

love them both - they look so professional! I too really like the bow detail on your purse's strap. What a cute touch!! I admire the way you used the decorative stitches too. I always get kind of intimidated when trying to do that. Thanks for sharing.
