I just purchased the project runway Brother embroidery machine, 6800, Does anyone know what kind of embroidery thread works best in this machine, have been looking on Amazon, but didn't know what kind to use.

I use Floriani and Metro Embroidery in my Brothers. Other Cuties will be along with what they like best too. Advice: Try a spool or two of a type of thread before you buy a whole bunch. Some machines like different threads and hate different threads (even in the same brand/model).

Welcome to Cute!

I use Sulky. I also use bobbin thread. Brother machines really like bobbin specific bobbin thread. I do use same color bobbin thread when needed by winding my top thread to the bobbin.

WELCOME, WELCOME, WELCOME to this great site. I have a Brother Quattro Innovis eye 6700D and I use Metro, Robison Anton, Hemingworth and the set I got from Brother. I prefer Polyester as it won't 'burn' when ironing designs. The Rayon is great for lingerie etc. and things that won't need ironing as much.

It's all a matter of what your machine will sew with without nesting or shredding. As pcteddy below has suggested just try a couple before buying a huge amount. I'm sure others will come along shortly with other suggestions. Good luck with it all, love and blessings Chris

Welcome to Cute...I use mostly Metro Thread...I have a Baby Lock Ellisimo...it is the sister machine to the Brother Quattro 6700...I also use their prewound bobbin...no problems with my machine with either...I have all of the colors in the Metro 5000 meter cones...I have the small ones for the colors that aren't available in 5000 meter cones, but truth be told...I rarely reach for the box they are in...I have also used Robinson Anton, Madera and Sulky...all work well...but Metro is poly thread and I like it for it's durability and it is very shiny...also washes well and bleach won't hurt it...it is also very economical...all the right stuff for me...

Welcome to Cute! I started out with regular coats and clark sewing thread. I have many brands of thread, and the only ones that are difficult are some of the rayons which are really silky and the sliver metallic. Test Test Test!

Hey, Welcome to Cuties! I have a Brother and use Florianni and also Metro - both Poly. I also highly recommend using the prewound bobbins with the plastic sides - also poly. Have fun with your machine!
