Guess who is back?? got my pc fixed! While I was away I emb and made 3 hooded towels, some easter and valentine coasters, and 20 prayer quilts! ....That was before we lost power due to ice storms. We were fortunate and were only out 18 hours. My daughter and her family had to come stay here, until theirs was restored, which was the next day.Avery had to do without her pump for 2 nights but she faired well.I have photos of her and Nora in the baby bed in my kitchen/living area.We had to shut off all the rooms except this one as we could only keep this part warm. You should have seen what I wore.I was layered but I also kept that blue hood on (the one in SEWING).Nora would stare at me,but she really wanted to cry.I told her ,well you have one on too!-LOL- I kept her coat and hood on until we got the room warm enough......You sure do appreciate power esp. once you have lost it and its restored. One of my grandsons work for the power company. His 'big' boss woke the family up, knocking on their door at 1:30 the first morning,to send them out to restore power.I thought of the men all that time.We think we are cold in the house, they are out in it.His mom told him to layer up,which he did,but he said his boots got wet and then his feet stayed cold....Also, I went to the ER with irregular heatbeat so seeing a cardiologist.Probally caused we danced, only about 3 or 4 times, at my SIL and BIL's 50th anniversary party,LOL I'm okay...Hope all of you had a nice Valentines Day...Of course,I stopped by Projects, before Community and took a peek at all the lovely items.Cuties have been busy,I had to go back quite a number of pages,to catch up.I also noticed we have a good number of newbies,I don't recognize.Looks like everyone is doing a nice job!..Well,I don't know who missed me,but I missed all of you! Glad to be 'home'-Toogie

Toogie, good to see you back. One certainly does appreciate electricity and being without for even a short time makes one value what we have.

Thank you, debwebster.
I'm not sure of the correct protocols yet, and if I've intruded on or stepped on anyone's toes when or wherever I've posted a note, apologies are in order.

Thanks for the welcome home, great to be back.I had some designs, saved on my brother card, so I was able to still emb with no pc, but complete shut-down with no electricity. However that wasn't long.I just commented on your basket,I like,in projects.

I missed you. I saw a hooded towel in projects and I thought of you. Glad you managed well through the storm and got through relatively unscathed.

Hello Toogie, glad you're back! Hope you are all nice and toasty warm again, I cannot begin to imagine how cold you must have been!! I hate the cold and can never get warm enough. We are sitting here at 8pm (South African time) with aircon on as our temperature is 30 deg C. Where is the picture with you in your hoodie please!! LOL

It's good to see you again Toogie! I bet your booties came in handy for sure. We weren't without power this year, but in the ice storm of 1993 we were out of power for 4 days. My kids ate so much tuna fish that they won't hardly touch it now, but we survived.

I can relate to that ! Kind of like when you were pregnant and threw up so much, you didn't want it for a while or EVER again-lol ....Did you know that I wrote that song for Garth Brooks,"I thank God for unanswered prayer". I sure did. I threw up so much with each pregancy I prayed "Lord just let me die, take me home"- I am glad He hasn't answered my prayer yet.-LOL

So glad that you are back to "normal" once again. Going without power is not fun! I'm glad that you all got to stay nice and warm though in your kitchen. The grands are growing and I love the look on Nora's face! Love Chris

She looks like she is shocked! I did look like a bag lady,I was so wrapped up.Their brother was bored, bored, bored. He would ask if this thing worked or that worked. We told him it all works but not without electricity!

Yayyy!!! Glad to see you, I have missed you very much. I know you're happy about the computer and power, when our internet goes out, it's pretty hohum around here but then I actually get more done, and being without power makes you appreciate electricity most of all. Amen! Welcome back Toogie!!! I hope the dr gives you a clean bill of health too. I have missed your seeing your projects. God bless you and all cuties too!

Thank you Sharon, such a warm feeling to know I was missed.Speaking of projects, have you made any of those Snuggler things you wrap a baby in? I got the pdf file and printed out the pattern but not sure if I pieced it together right.Looks somewhat ok,guess I'll just have to make one and see.
by sewilso 15 Feb 2014
No, I surf the net the best. lol! I bet my new grandson would like one though, I have so many projects I want to do, I sure hope I get more ambitious, I want to work fewer hours so I have more time, and hopefully semi retire at the end of the year. I'm glad you got lots of sewing done before your power went out. I've not been to projects yet to see if you have shared them but after supper will mozy that way. I bet you did it right though, you're one smart cookie!!!
