At last I have some buttons (a bit big) to finish off my box. First time I have ever quilted on my sewing machine and I am pleased with the result. What I will ever use this little box for is a mystery. At the moment I have thrown in a few cotton reels - just because. LOL.

It's gorgeous Sarah. I'll have to give it a try later on the weekend. Love Chris

I think I am just too practical as I probably will not make any more although I chatted to Sue and I think felt is the way to go. Bought some felt this morning. It is just too hot to sew at the moment, although today is much cooler. Thanks for looking Chris.

Adorable. You could use it to organize various items or put wrapped candy in it. I tried something like this w/a Christmas theme and it did not turn out at all. (You could also machine embroider the corners).

Nicely done...did you do this in the hoop? Love the color, too!

Thank you Dennis. I would have liked them a bit smaller but when you live in a small town in SA you have to take what you can get.

I have thought of something to do with one that will be practical for my house. My darling husband believes that he gently lays his change and pocket treasures gently on the dresser in the evening, BUT it sounds like he climbs up on a stool to drop it as far as possible to my ears. I'm going to try and fashion a masculine box for his dresser top. I'll report back and let you know if he can hit it. ☺

Now Mrs. J., why don't you just own up and admit that you want somewhere for your DH's change, so that it is easier for you to scoop up in the morning before it goes back in his pocket. You girls are all the same, the world over!!
by airyfairy 20 Feb 2014
Great idea Jerrilyn. Dennis seems to think that you are being cunning. Where does he get that idea from? LOL
by jrob 20 Feb 2014
Dennis, I don't want the change, I want the $'s!
by rescuer 21 Feb 2014
LOL
Silly Dennis.
I get all the change I need from my laundry "tips" as any money found in the wash -- is mine. It might be good to have a cloth box for collections as well. Thanks for the idea!

Very pretty and you did a super job with it. I like jrob's idea for keeping the change.

Carolyn - I have a huge button box - many from my grandmother but finding 4 that will match, right colour was not going to happen. Thank you for looking.
