Aussie Ladies, I am needing some fabric. It is giraffe skin pattern with giraffe skin colours. Don't want full giraffe's on fabric. Just the look of a giraffe's skin. If any one has seen any here in Australia can you please let me know where. Like the photo here, thanks.

Monika, Kerry needs 1 and a half metres. I wrote to her yesterday and said I'd check out our quilt shop this week. Don't have a car tomorrow but will on Tuesday. Love Chris

This is probably a silly question...is it better to order on line and have it shipped or get it in Australia...On a trip to Australia two years ago, I found most fabric to be $25 per meter...the same fabric in the USA is only about $10 per yard...I was stunned to say the least....

Perfectly reasonable question. I cannot speak for the situation in Downunderland but here in the UK it would be great if we could benefit from the fantastic prices to be found in the USA.
Unfortunately, by the time we have paid for the goods, plus shipping and then import duties on the sum total of those costs (not to mention the administration fees of the UK courier), the cost is far greater. They don't refer to the UK as 'Rip-off Britain' for no reason!!

I am trying to look at all avenues at the moment. Just waiting on an Aussie trader to get back to me, it is $22 pm and this will have to be posted to me as well . Will certainly weigh up the cheapest way to buy it. Chris found some at Amazon for me....Occassionally I purchase from over seas to save me money. thanks for your thoughts.
Dennis you make me laugh.

I have no idea how much of this fabric you require. A tip we learned in a quilting seminar: If you only need a little more to complete your project use your photocopier and COPY a piece of what you have on photo-transfer fabric!! This works especially well if some fabric has been purchased some time ago and just sitting in your stash waiting for the right time. By then, it may not be available in the stores so this could be a "quick fix".
