My Mom's birthday is next week so I made another of these table toppers for her. I wanted to show you the Beautiful quilted hearts I found for the center of this one. don't they match well? I did some hand quilting on the first one I made but I like this so much better. The table topper is a Patrick Lose design. The quilted hearts in the center are part of an AnitaGooddesign from her quilted blocks pack. I only have a 5 x 7 hoop so this required 12 separate hoopings. I feel I have finally mastered the art of placement. It is such a good feeling. hugs, Susan

Wow. You are right ... you certainly mastered the art of placement. The designs are very nice. Don't you just love the feeling when you know that your designs perfectly coordinate with one another? You did a great job getting it all together. Happy Birthday to your Mom. I am sure she loved her gift.

It is lovely! So what placement method did you use? Templates?

Yes I use templates. I folded the doily in half then in half again so I have a center line on all 4 sides. Then I fold in half diagonally each way. Now I have 8 center lines for placement. Now I mark the center point on my template and fold the template in half. I lay the fold of the template along the folded line I made on the doily and make my center point. When I hoop the doily I use the grid with my hoop to get it lined up exactly where I want it to stitch. I hope this makes sense. Susan
