And this is not sewing or embroidery. But I am proud to show what my husband made. Also a custom in The Netherlands: a sign to tell the world that a baby is born.

Is it allowed to show here??
And my daughter, just started with sewing, made the flag. I had to give her instructions through the phone, because I was not allowed to see the flag, because in that case I would know the name.

Well, I think that this is wonderful. It is always interesting to learn about the customs in different parts of the world. Congratulations to your daughter and your husband for their work. At the end of the day, the work is all about different types of craft and the joy in peoples lives and that is what the Cutie site is all about.

Thank you. I always find it interesting how people do things in other parts of the world. Tow sisters of my mom emigratited 60 years ago to Canada. And it is so interesting to see that their children have a total different life as we have in The Netherlands.

Congratulations on the birth of your granddaughter! I love this welcome to baby. In the US it is not advised as there have been stranger danger problems. I would love the world to know when it happens to me.

Thanks. To bad in the US it can not be. Here it is not safe everywhere, but I think it is safe where my daughter lives.

Congratulations and thank you for sharing it here with us! This is a wonderful custom. Here in the southern U.S. we put out ribbons (pink or blue) on the mail box, or a flag saying, "It's a girl" or It's a boy", but I like your custom more!

Thanks. It started with just putting a stork (they used to tell baby's that a stork brought a baby) and people try now to do it more original
