This is a runner I made there is 16 clusters of my little angel blossoms. I hand stippled the middle for practice as I am trying for even stitching by hand with machine. (img1)

Looks very nice, but I have a question. Did you practice Free Motion Quilting with a speciell quilting foot or used you the sewing foot and a ruler to get the straight lines?
I like your quilting and have to try it too.

In answer to your question. I used chalk to draw on fabric of this one. But I used embroidery spring foot dropped the feed dogs and followed my caulk lines. I can't draw a straight line without out ruler. My goal is to get comfy and good at hand work Free motion. Lol I need lots of practice.
