Yesterday evening my neighbour's brother-in-law gave me a surprise package of knitting yarn, very thin, and a lot of it. He had helped moving an old lady (actually only 5 years older than me) to a senior flat and she asked him to find someone who might use it.

My grandson "ordered" a sweater in red 10 days ago, so I don't have to shop for that.
The yarn is thinner than the Burmilana embroidery thread I have. I think I'll mix the two larger cones of red together, maybe even all three, to get a thicker yarn and use my old knitting machine. The larger cones weigh over 1 kg (more than 2 lb) each. I'd had to live to a 100 to knit all these by hand.

I mixed 3 colours and knitted a swap. I think it works well.
