Caleb's quilt was well recieved.#1 was when he opened and read the label-#2 was my big hug! #3 was him showing his fiance' Taylor #4 was the quilt opened up,of course #5 looking at both sides #6 Caleb and his PaPa looking at something? #7 and #8 on his bed reverse sides= 2 in 1...I didn't want Taylor to feel bad, because I didn't label it to Caleb and Taylor, even tho they will marry in June.So what I did say was, I promised him a quilt when he moved out on his own,I just dated it when I finished in 2014, instead of 2012 when he got his own place, and I first started collecting the jeans.I hope her feelings weren't hurt, but I really did make it special for him.He wasn't even dissappointed it wasn't camo,he said," I loved it Gram, just like it is.",which made my heart swell.-I did tell Taylor, if they were planning to use it on top the bed,I would make some shams.I told her I had fabric left, so she did say to make some gingham pillowcases.I told her I could emb on the hem Mr. & Mrs on the other,or Mr.Right to which Caleb nodded his head before I said I would put Mrs.Always Right on hers, then they both laughed. We enjoed the visit with them and hope you enjoyed sharing it with me.(do you see little Nora on the sofa, sitting so big, looking at Taylor? Her mom took these photos with my IPhone,so not the best clarity.-Toogie

You know,my husband has a hard time 'saying' anything about my projects.I guess it is the 'time he was born'/age thing.Anyway,I knew he was proud of this, because he wanted to show it, even though he wouldn't dare 'tell' me he was proud....And they think women are hard to understand !
by hightechgrammy 10 Mar 2014
Toogie, I noticed before this conversation, that he looked really involved and proud. It's hard to tell sometimes with our guys, isn't it.

My BIL has told me he has some jeans,I could make him one out of.My husband did laugh at that. Before I could say anything,my husband said as heavy as this was for me,I had said I couldn't do another one this size.

I wish you could meet him,Jan.He laughs so quickly and its one of those hearty ones....I know what you are thinking,we can't help ourselves, sometimes. Now no tears....(I choked up at that wedding reception, when I started to speak to someone, there were 2 beautiful, identical twin girls and they came and stood right in front of my husband and me.Beautiful, healthy identical twins.

I'm so glad they both liked the quilt, but I didn't have any doubts that they would not like it. I'm glad you all had a great time.

Have you thought about making the next denim quilt with denim only on the front & just regular quilting material on the back? That would help with the heaviness some.

Yes,I,m always thinking...guess that's why I can't sleep-lol-I have some other to do things but seriously am thinking about some type of quilt. My husband likes quilts.our 50th antiversary is just 4 yrs away,so I need to get good at it and keep thinking.
