22 March 14: Just to let you lovely ladies know that I shall be leaving you in peace and tranquility over the next day or two. I am having to change my broadband modem thingy (a technical term) and everything associated with it. Knowing my utter ignorance of all the technical wizardry, what I am given to understand should take a couple of hours will undoubtedly deteriorate into several days of mind-blowing frustration resulting in the reconfiguration of my monitor by way of a four pound lump hammer being put through it! I know where to put the coal in with the old system but the new modem does not appear to have any holes to put anything into (it may, once I've finished with it).

So, make the most of my absence but as Arnie says "I'll be back...........................!"

Dennis -- your first statement was very ominous!
So glad to hear it is only a simple hardware change. You may not like it -- but it won't take that long unless you threaten the workers. Then they will mess it up on purpose. ;)
Enjoy the tranquil moments. I am sure I can find something to do while you are away. I saw a new pair of scissors at the shop...I may need to buy them while you are out.

I'm with Bev, it's so much simpler to give in to the inevitable. Think of it as conserving your brain resourcss and frustration resources for more important matters.

We'll be here when you get back. I enjoyed your description but I do think it will be less painful than you anticipate. You will however have to wonder what we are saying about you while you are gone. ☻
