Some weeks before I have seen 2 octagonblocks on a russian site (Link, scroll down), only the picture no pattern. I liked it, but don`t find any pattern because I don`t know the name of the block. So I must figure out myself and this is what I find out.
I made only the top, may be this will be a cushioncover, may be 3 together will be a runner...
By the way, from the leftovers you get a second piece (pic2)

That's the beauty of those strip pieced parts, you get the other one as well. I love the embroidery and the matching colour combination.

Very pretty, its a pity they don't have English instructions as well.

There are no instruction, no english no russian...
Google will translate a lot of it. Go to Google Translate, choose Russian to English, copy/paste the link into the box, click on translate.
Thanks for the advice, will give it a try as I often get onto non-English sites with great projects.

Looks like it could be in all shades of green for a Christmas wreath style table topper, just add a few embroidery designs. Thanks for sharing

I think so too, may be some nice Christmasfabriks in white, green, red.

Can you give us sizes for this, it's very nice. G

For a 30cm block the radius for the inner octagon is 6,5cm,
the triangle (45degree) measures 12cm, 12cm, 18,5 cm.
This was the greatest work, to find out, which sizes I need, to get a block in the right size.
