"Rosakent" and I have seen a demonstration of the new Janome 15000 machine today. So impressive, but sooooooooooooo expensive! Has anyone else been tempted?

I, too, have seen the demo on this machine..it is VERY EXPENSIVE! I have been disappointed with Janome since the problems with the SE11000...but, what is so disappointing is that Janome is still clinging to their Cloth Setter for design placement...come on, this is technology from the original Memory Craft 8000 from 1990...I know because I have that machine...seriously? Compared to the camera and scanning capabilities of the Baby Lock and Brother machines...they are still in the stone age... and besides the wireless tablet connection to the machine...nothing else on the 15000 was very impressive to me...compared to how far other manufacturers have come with their top of the line machines...so for my money...not on this machine...just my opinion...

I value your opinion! It has some interesting features, but they are probably on the other makes as well.
Thank you Dragonflyer, I found your comments useful. I liked the embroidery unit that didn't have to be removed when sewing and the size of the hoops but maybe not enough to justify spending all that money. Back to removing the unit and finding somewhere to store it. Jo
The brother/babylocks do not require you to remove the embroidery unit to sew. it moves out of the way so you can sew. I would not try to quilt with it attached but for quick things it works just fine.
Yes you can sew with the unit in place, but I much prefer to sew without it and the tool box in place, so I can change feet etcwhile I'm sewing. And I'm much more of a sewer than an embroiderer.

Right Sue just what was so impressive about this machine? I have received a email from J&B Sewing in Newport, Gwent about it. They are selling it at a eyewatering £6495 which includes some free softwear. If one likes the machine can be bought over 24 months at a deposit and £199 a month if you don't get it outright. Are either of you buying or did you just have a fun afternoon? I suggest you sell the car and buy the machine instead...he he

I went to seriously look and if it was fantastic and 100% what I wanted and needed, then I would have seriously considered buying one. But as Sue was given a goodie bag and I wasn't, I won't be having one!!!

I did get to play with one at my dealers. But, I am so happy with my 12000, it does everything I want but fix dinner and clean house. Hugs..Carol

Every new machine tempts me. Mine is a babylock 2003 Ellageo, and it does up to 6 x 10 but don't we always want we can't have? lol!
I would think you'd have to have a commercial machine to even recoup your money spent out. My cousin has a janome 10000 upgraded to the next highest and she swears by it so she would probably get another janome.
