I will certainly be watching..............................but I must decline your kind invitation to suggest who the winner will be................as I wish to avoid 'that look' that I got from your friend, the last time I had the temerity to comment on the show!

I have already booked my place in front of the 'box'. I really don't know who will win. At first I thought I saw a runaway winner (she's still there) but after last week - I now can't guess. Just imagine having to keep the fact YOU WON a secret until after tonight's show!

Last year the winner was clear with her skill. this year I feel all have had less of a success. Wait and see. I only hope my broadband will work enough for me to see it al lol.

Okay, now that I know it's safe to comment, I'm having a spread bet on either the one with the dinner plates hanging off her ears or the horsey one........................................or it could be Dave.

Well, that was a turn up for the books. Congratulations to Heather although I think it was a close run thing. I think the tie project right at the start did it for Camello (I don't think I've got the name right). Such a shame for her. Then again, I believe that Tamara lost out to the last project by perhaps trying to be too ambitious. Changing the stated design mid-way through never sits well with judges (whatever the nature of a competition). Interesting though to see what everyone has moved on to.
The BBC surely could have afforded a better winners trophy though. I thought that manakin trophy was awful!!

I was unable to watch live so I caught up on i player. Just as the winner was being announced there was the most awful noise, crashing and banging. My dear cat asking to come in. My sewing room is upstairs and the cat jumps onto the roof and climbs up and yowls at the window until I let her in. Yes Heather was a worthy winner as she certainly made a technically challenging dress. Last years 'trophy' was rubbish so looks like they are continuing in the same vein

Random thoughts after the event.
Heather had held on by the skin of her teeth most weeks but won the competition with one posh frock. That doesn't seem right to me.
Throughout the series, posh frocks came up with boring regularity.
Why the fixation with silk? (If I had been taking part, I would have had enormous difficulty with that and the leather on ethical grounds.)
Those glued on flowers looked to me as if they were a dismantled spray of the pound shop variety. (A great source but not for this challenge!)

Now, some suggestions for the future.
In place of the alteration of a perfectly serviceable garment, why not give them a worn garment to renovate?
Rather than giving them the run of the fabric store, they could have some assorted scraps and trimmings to make something new. (Not necessarily to wear.)

I'll stop now and invite suggestions from the floor.

Once again I enjoyed the programme, but was left a feeling of was that it when it was over. Now I realise that Sues comments about the winner were the reason. It seems that the work the contestants have done during the whole series is not taken into account which seems a shame.
