UPDATE**Cute is safe from the recent security issue!

We have checked the Cute websites for the latest threat called the Heartbleed Bug. It is safe and secure here.
Please wait to change your passwords until the websites you deal with say they have fixed the issue or they do not use OpenSSL. You will have to contact the websites you deal with to see if they have the security issue.
Good luck! Report back in this thread (to keep this issue together) if you hear from the any of the websites where you sign-in.

So, please clarify - do I need to change my password here?

by rescuer 10 Apr 2014
that depends. if your system was breached and there's no way to know... then you should change passwords as soon as all of the sites you use have fixed the issue.
if the password you use here is unique and you don't use it anywhere else you should be fine.

I don't know about the sites we use here but this is what KCRA had posted as of an hour ago,

Change these passwords now (they were patched)
Google, YouTube and Gmail Facebook Yahoo, Yahoo Mail, Tumblr, Flickr OKCupid Wikipedia

Don't worry about these (they don't use the affected software, or ran a different version)
Amazon AOL and Mapquest Bank of America Capital One bank Charles Schwab Chase bank Citibank E*Trade Fidelity HSBC bank LinkedIn Microsoft, Hotmail and Outlook PayPal PNC bank Scottrade TD Ameritrade Twitter U.S. Bank Wells Fargo

Don't change these passwords yet (still unclear, no response)
American Express Apple, iCloud and iTunes

PayPal was still affected about 8 hours ago
they have since fixed the issue.

So evidently KCRA channel 10 was mistaken...
This is the list from CNET ...

Here is a list of sites that you will need to change passwords for -- however, this list is not complete! All the sites listed are currently listed or have been listed with other websites. There are some sites that claim they were not affected but when I tested them yesterday they were affected -- so I listed those that I tested too. In addition to this list, you will want to change passwords for any other places that you have used the same password as you did with any affected sites. Additionally, you may want to change passwords again in about 2 weeks -- just to be safe.
Banks -- I will be changing my passwords there in about 2 weeks -- regardless of the lack of reported vulnerability.
The list:
Facebook
Instagram
Pintrest
Tumblr
Twitter
Amazon
Google (including Gmail) Chrome was not affected
Yahoo (including email and groups)
Flickr
Etsy
GoDaddy
Paypal
Intuit (Turbo tax)
H&R Block
Target
USAA
Box
Dropbox
GitHub
IFTTT
Minecraft (online game)
Netflix
OKCupid
SoundCloud
Wordpress (but wait until they fix it -- they have not yet done so)
Wunderlist
Dashlane
LastPass (all passwords stored for other websites)
Possibly WalMart, Groupon and eBay (For safety -- I would do them as well)
Cuties, if you do not know what any of these places are by name -- then don't worry about them as you will not have an account with them.
Hugs

Oops I spelled Pinterest wrong and forgot to use capital letters in some of the words like PayPal. I hope this won't confuse any of you.

You do not need to change your password here. This site is safe and did not have the issue. So no worries about Cute.

Pinterest has sent out notifications to change passwords. They didn't find any sign of mischief but are doing this as a precaution.
Anyone having trouble getting onto Pinterest or Facebook? I have been having trouble for days, just wondering if it is this bug or my computer.

Hi Anne, I didn't have any problems getting onto Pinterest or Facebook to change my password. Keep trying, maybe with all the activity they got bogged down. Hugs..Carol
