A new thread challenge for those who wish to get even MORE over-organized. On a rainy day, just after the rain (truest light) or under an OTT light, compare all your slacks or all your solid color blouses/t shirts/tops and write down all the thread colors of your slacks or blouses. This takes a while, which is why I suggest you do one or the other in one sitting! Keep this list posted at your machine. Now, when you're stitching, oh, let's say a floral design on a jacket, you can select the exact color of green or blue or purple... of the pants you already own. (Or that 3 of your t shirts are!) Voila! You're coordinated. After doing this a few months, you'll be miraculously matched. And you start seeing, hey, I might need to add a pair of leaf green slacks to my closet. One thing I've learned is that I always want to add a bit of black into every design that I can, so that my black slacks will look nice with the design. And that despite what colors the digitizer chose, I will usually favor ivory to dead white. You will feel sooo smart in your coordinated clothes, that you can get rid of lots of stuff in your closet and take it to the Goodwill! Have fun.

Yes, Sue. My house is overflowing with Goodwill denim blouses and jackets and kiddie jackets on which to stitch. My best "blank." I've become quite the denim girl myself for someone who didn't wears jeans from age 15 to 40!

Oh my, you are very organized. I love this idea, but have to get my sewing room organized so I have room to do a project like this.

I will never be that organized. I guess I don't mind if I am color coordinated or not.

what an interesting idea - you would have to be fairly organized to be able to start this though. I think that is the slow down point. I just had a cat jump down from the top of the bookcase onto the computer table where I was enjoying a bowl of mac n cheese ... makes it harder to be organized. Bu that is a good idea! Thanks.

I like your idea and since I usually only wear black, navy and brown, it makes it simple! summer is white, tan, navy, brown. Except for my sets which already match, I am boring. I need embroidery to spice it up.

This is a great idea, however I see a slight technical hitch....one needs to be making something for themselves to wear!!! How many of us really do that? Aren't we always making for someone else, even, in my case, for dogs more than humans? I suspect I might be doing this all wrong :)
