Mr. Peeko thought he was missing out on that new fangled behind the ear scratcher! This fellow isn't bad, especially for a first timer. I have seen guys doing this at craft fairs.

There seems to be a number of people turning their hand to this type of craft and it does require a lot of skill, particularly when done with a chainsaw. Mind you, I'm not sure I would like the noise of a chainsaw going on for too long! When you mentioned Mr. Peeko's visit, I had this feeling you were going to say that he had done what all dogs do to a new and immobile object.....lol

lol yes he did and i jerked him away and was a little embarrassed to say the least. We are used to chainsaws here. We get our firewood .We all help each other 6 houses we do.That's a lot of wood to .Maybe 100 plus cords of birch wood.so noise of a saw is a healthy sound here in the bush. Thanks

First time? Pretty good for the first. I wouldn't attempt it as I'd have nothing but sawdust, where he has a bear. :P Mr. Peeko will have lots of new playmates soon. Will he do a statue of the little guy for him to play with?

Wow! I know it is roughed out with the chainsaw and he will do the rest with chisels. He's doing a great job. I think Mr. Peeko agrees.

What a wonderful talent this man has and he will only improve with more practice. I can't believe this is his first try especially with a chain saw! Love Chris

yes he is using wee chain saw .That one is not meant for large cutting down of trees only wee branches .Its not big like my 18 inch bar one we use in the bush to cut the birch trees for our winter wood .thanks hugs

I've heard carving is very simple. You just cut away anything that doesn't look like a bear!
