I made something similar to this using wheat, and yes you heat it in the microwave for a few minutes. I made one for my 3 year old GD she loved it! she called it her "heat pillow" much safer than a hot water bottle for little ones.

Lovely set. I should attempt a pillow like this for my mom for Mother's Day. I will have to find something to fill it with so it can be heated in the microwave. Thanks for sharing your wonderful ideas.
