A mugmat can be not too costly to send and can go anywhere with its Cutie recipient or stay at home as a reminder of the kindness of a fellow Cutie. It also complies with the request for our exchange to be just one single item :)

What about a small wall hanging, a heatproof pad for the pots or cake tins, and like the girls below have also said you can never go wrong with a towel or mugrug or even a placemat.. there are so many things and designs we could make it is going to be hard to choose.. hope this helps.

I think a Biscornu would be a great gift as Cute has so many gorgeous designs that would be suitable to use. Or maybe one of those combination pincushion/ thread collector thingies, or a scissors holder, or a tote bag suitable for grocery shopping, or a zippered make-up bag, or spectacle case or a 'purse pack size' tissue holder, or a cushion cover, or a pan pot holder or any of the great suggestions below.
As long as we each stick to ONE gift as Sue has REPEATEDLY requested!!!!
Please don't let this turn into a competition of who can give the most gifts, it only causes embarrassment for the receiver and discourages some Cuties from participating at all as they feel they can't compete.

Since we are in the midst of a kitchen renovation I have not picked a theme yet but I have picked an accent colour..............cranberry so I think anything with this colour for the kitchen such as a tea towel, or a new apron or anything with this colour in it would be lovely. Thanks for bringing this back to the top. I failed to post here (I thought I had but must have been busy) and I should really help out as I am asking for design ideas myself.
I can always use something in the kitchen -- a pot holder, hand towel, or a centerpiece doily. A personalized bath towel might be nice although that would be harder to ship. A bookmark might be nice and Veronika had some lovely ones to choose from too.
I do hope I am one of that last to send off but just in case others have not yet finished -- now is the time.

This is funny! I have a son in this house who likes to take responsibility for opening parcels :) It's usually not something very exciting -like a bunch of snaphooks or side release buckles etc, LOL. You could let 'your little boy' open it carefully out of your sight, then do it up again for you to be surprised on Tues :) How does he go with the Christmas Tree stuff?
We open our Christmas presents Christmas EVE, because he can't wait one more day, but I'm sure he goes searching beforehand, little realising I usually hide his pressies in amongst the pile of shopping bags and blankets in the boot of my car. hehehehehe!!! He would open the boot lid, take one look and close it again as it LOOKS chock a block! :-)
I'm tempted to ask how old he is, but I won't, LOL. I hide any sweets, chippies etc from the boys in this house or they'd eat them all immediately. The best places are right in front of their noses -or where cleaning equipment lives :)

I am imagining all the Cuties getting up first thing tomorrow to rush and open their Secret Sister gifts in celebration of CuteEmbroidery's 7th Birthday.
Don't forget many Cuties are several hours ahead of the rest, timewise, so we will need somewhere to post our photo's, ahead of the rest.

If I was a gambler my money would probably go on Chris Pennifold as she gets up earlier than anyone I know, but then again, many of us stay up far later than others so could still be awake after midnight, which, as I write this is only 9 hours and 10 minutes away.
