Birds at the Lake wall hanging. I made this last spring to put up at the cottage so the kids could identify the birds that came to visit.

What a great idea! I like the machine quilting around the birds too. Nicely done!

Thanks. The machine quilting was done on my embroidery machine and was free, but I do not remember where from.

Thanks. We have a teacher in our family and she inspires me to come up with educational ideas.

Thanks. We play a game with this wall hanging - I have little plastic tags with the kids names on it and safety pins on the tags. The first person to spot the bird gets to place their name tag on the picture of the bird and it stays there all year.

I'm sure they all love the game!

Thanks. The quilting was all done on my embroidery machine - I can't free motion to save my soul. I have to follow a pattern or use the embroidery machine :-)

I did all the quilting at the end. I have yet to try quilt as you go and sometimes the quilts get a bit big and bulky to do on the embroidery machine :-)

This is very nicely embroidered and quilted.Something to be proud of.I thought I had to follow a pattern for free motion, too. You need to relax, like I had to do,and just go with the flow.I bet you could do it.I practice on my bags or hats....-lol
