I've been making another batch of pet beds for the animal shelters. Mocha found them before I got them quilted and decided to be my quality control tester. I think they pass (there are 18 beds in the pile). Next time I'm going to place a pea underneath them and see if she really is a princess :-) Her own bed is the red one to the left.

Excellent pet beds! I think she approves and is a princess regardless of whether she finds the pea or not!

Thanks - I have made abut 100 of these so far and all the animal shelters I give them to just love them because they can be washed and re-used.

These are a nice gift for the shelter.... How do you make them?
Mocha is beautiful... it's nice to have her to give a stamp of approval!

They are made with 2 hand towels and 1/2" high loft batting in between. I just sew around the edges and then quilt about 4" apart. The size is about 15" x 25" and they fit perfectly into the kennels in the shelter. I buy the towels from the Dollar Store so can make a whole bunch for fairly cheap. Here is a site with a similar idea. http://www.milomade.co.uk/blog/2013/06/upcycle-old-towels-into-dog-beds/

She loves all the quilts I make too. She tests each one out as soon as the binding has been finished.

It's wonderful that you make these. Every house pet I know loves these kind of beds.

I have given quite a number away to friends and family as well. Each of the fur babies love them and spend hours curled up in comfort on them.

:-) Too cute - my Petey always manages to find the most comfy spot in the house. I'd love to know more details on how you make these - they would be a wonderful gift to our Humane Shelter. Dee

Good idea and they do look comfy. Our cats prefer unmade beds and are very upset when you move them to make it. Hugs

Some spoiled cats are just ore spoiled than other spoiled cats, speaking from experience. Have you told him/her that the beds are leaving?
I just spent four hours in the veggie garden with my cat supervisor. Sugartoes checks my work between naps and baths and chasing an occasional bird.
